Many kilometres of trails begin and end at Takhini Hot Springs. These trails provide wonderful opportunities for walking and x-country skiing. You can go for a self-guided walk ranging from 20 minutes to an hour and a half. Maps are available at the front desk.
The trails loop through the pine and aspen woods and across open pastures. The terrain varies but it is never too steep. The loops enable walkers or skiers to choose a route just the right length for their endurance and enjoyment. The trails are suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers.
At Takhini Hot Springs whether you are skiing or walking, you are welcome to bring your dog with you. Certain winter trails are designated for skijoring, a growing sport where dogs pull skiers along the ski trails. Some of the trails are groomed while others are kept open by skiers exploring new routes.
After some exercise, there is nothing more soothing for trail-stretched muscles than a soak in the hot springs! |
